Description

Main researcher: Dr. Claudia Miranda, director of MICARE.
Co-researcher: Dr. Andrea Slachevsky

Funding: ANID – FONDECYT REGULAR 1191726

Years: 2019-2023

The general aim of this research is to determine the trajectories and predictors of depressive and anxious symptomatology, over time, in family carers of people with dementia.

Specific aims:

1. To identify trajectories of depressive and anxious symptomatology in family carers of persons with dementia.

2. To determine the profile(s) of family carers who are more vulnerable to present trajectories with increasing levels of depressive and/or anxious symptomatology.

3. To identify the factors of the person with dementia, the family carer and the context that act as predictors of depressive/anxious symptomatology in the trajectories of family carers of people with dementia.

250 family carers will be surveyed over a two-year period (three measurements) about personal factors, the person with dementia and contextual factors.
