On April 27 and 28, two MICARFE researchers attended the XI Chilean Congress of Sociology and Pre-ALAS Meeting Concepción 2022, organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences at Universidad de Concepción.

Our postdoctoral researcher Francisca Ortiz (PhD in Sociology from the University of Manchester and Master from the Universidad Católica de Chile) presented on April 27 at 8:30 am with Alejandro Espinosa-Rada, on “Gender and geographic location of researchers (Global South or North) in the social network analysis community.”

The following day, on Thursday, April 28, at 8:30 am, Francisca Ortiz presented “Living while caring: theoretical/methodological approaches to understanding care and support networks for the elderly.”

On the same day, our associate researcher María Beatriz Fernández (academic at the UC Sociology Institute), presented at 9:45 am, about “Care and female domestic work in a pandemic. How does teleworking affect the subjective well-being of women in Chile?”.

All keynote talks were streamed on YouTube by Facultad de Ciencias Sociales UdeC, and the parallel tables will be released soon.
