On November 8th, MICARE and COANIL Foundation signed a collaboration agreement for care research.
Coanil, wich has worked for people with intellectual disabilities since 1974, becomes now a space for participation and coordination in studies carried out together with MICARE.
On the other hand, the Institute will commit to guide and deliver relevant results to the care of people with intellectual disabilities; among other agreements.
The agreement was signed at the “Los Jazmines” Residence in La Reina by Claudia Miranda, director of MICARE, and Nicolás Fehlandt, general manager of COANIL; who were also able to share with residents and workers of the institution.
Patricia Maturana, Residence Manager, and Felipe Arteaga, President of the COANIL Board of Directors, also participated in the encounter.
“At MICARE we are interested in generating scientific knowledge that allows us to respond to the real needs of society. That is why we are very happy with the signing of this agreement with the COANIL Foundation, which will allow us to collaborate with each other, both in research and in the organization and dissemination of activities of common interest”, said Claudia Miranda.
“We hope that this joint work has implications that allow improving the quality of life of the users and those who work in the foundation”, she added.
“This alliance confirms the interest of the foundation to continue learning. We believe that we will be able to answer long-term questions”, said Nicolás Fehlandt.
“We are convinced that with quality research we can generate relevant inputs to strengthen the design of public matters, with a view to the attention and care of people with intellectual disabilities”, concluded the COANIL manager.
