Perceptions and attitudes regarding the termination of pregnancy and the identification of Down syndrome

Description

This project is led by Cristián Rodríguez, MICARE young researcher and Assistant Professor at the School of Psychology of the Universidad de los Andes. The study is financed by the UANDES Research Aid Fund (FAI MICARE modality).

The research addresses the perceptions and attitudes around the interruption of pregnancy and the identification of Down syndrome in Chile.

Specifically, three studies will be carried out that will use questionnaires and scenarios designed by specialists, which will be applied to a total of 1650 Chilean adults.

The study seeks to understand how these perceptions and attitudes influence the vision of disability, which can help inform public policies and support programs for families who are going through similar situations.
