In August 2022, MICARE began its Mentoring Program, with the aim of generating links, collaborations, and feedback between undergraduate and postgraduate students and the MICARE research community.
On December 6, the first face-to-face meeting between its members was held, in the premises of the Faculty of Nursing of the Andrés Bello University.
The activity, which marked a milestone in the history of the MICARE Millennium Institute, had the objective of bringing together students and mentors, collecting their impressions and experiences in the process experienced in this first stage, and generating proposals for next year in the Mentoring Program.
Within the topics raised, it was proposed to keep up with the communication between the institute lines; to generate exclusive instances between MICARE senior researchers and students; in addition to the need to continue contributing with research connected to the reality of those who experience care issues on a daily basis.
It was also proposed to hold seminars and research awards. Finally, the students reported feeling very happy with the instance and with the systematic accompaniment of their mentors, showing interest in expanding their work through internships, work groups, and mutual feedback.
Thank you to all the students who joined us at this first meeting! We hope many more to come.
