MICARE Director Claudia Miranda has joined the Social Development Advisory Council from the Santiago Government’s, a group that includes representatives from the academic, social, and technical sectors to strengthen public policies in the Metropolitan Region.
During a recent council meeting held on May 29, the Government of Santiago presented progress on its social agenda and addressed the main challenges the region will face in the coming years, including an aging population, mental health, inclusion, and people’s well-being.
The Social Development Advisory Council will operate during the 2026–2028 term, with a mission to provide recommendations that contribute to the development of policies and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for the region’s residents.
For MICARE, Claudia Miranda’s participation in this body represents an opportunity to contribute scientific evidence on care, aging, and well-being to public discourse and decision-making on social issues.
MICARE’s participation in this council builds on the work the institute has carried out in recent years to strengthen the care agenda in Chile, promoting interdisciplinary research and dialogue between science, society, and public policy.
