Description

New article with the MICARE seal!

Marcela Tenorio, Andrés Aparicio, and Paulina Arango, research associates at MICARE, are co-authors of this paper on interventions that increase the social participation of people with intellectual disabilities. The article was published with Rosario Espinoza and Vicente Villate.

Summary:

People with intellectual disabilities have been historically excluded from decision-making processes. Previous literature suggests that increasing social participation may be an effective way to address this exclusion, but there has been no systematic review of interventions designed to increase the social participation of people with intellectual disabilities.

This study aims to identify and organize factors associated with interventions that increase the social participation of people with intellectual disabilities, in addition to providing a set of good practices for future interventions.
