Exploring the needs for support of adults with intellectual disability in Chile

Description

This study examines the lack of knowledge in Chile about the specific needs of people with intellectual disability, analyzing the support needs of 93 adults with intellectual disability aged between 18 and 39 years old, in the Metropolitan and Valparaiso regions of Chile.

Although the results show no significant differences with regards the level of intellectual disability, gender and socioeconomic level, the authors concluded that it is necessary to develop strategies to meet the specific needs of the population, which mostly requires a high level of support.
