The training session “Research Training for Care: Tools and Evidence for the Local Network of the Municipality of Los Andes” was held with strong participation. The event was organized by the Local Support and Care Network Program (PRLAC) of the Municipality of Los Andes and conducted by the MICARE research team.
The workshop aimed to strengthen knowledge regarding disability, dependency, and the care of older adults, bringing together professionals from various public institutions that are part of the local network and work directly with people in situations of dependency.
The initiative was funded by the Ministry of Social Development and Family and the Municipality of Los Andes, and also received support from the Los Andes Police Department (PDI), which provided the venue for the event.
The event was led by MICARE and featured the participation of Alejandra Araya, who discussed relationships in contexts of vulnerability and the role of research in improving the quality of life for older adults; Felipe Muñoz La Rivera, who addressed the emerging care technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence; Vanessa Vega, who discussed support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and Paula Vega, who addressed the topics of grief and caregiver support.
